Skyway Community Center

March 2024 Updates:

If you heard that a community center is coming to Skyway, you heard right!

The Skyway community has advocated for many years to have a community gathering space. Skyway Coalition is partnering with the community, and the community will continue to be a central collaborator as the project progresses.

We're still in the very early stages of planning.  A potential site location has not yet been identified.  Work is currently being done to finalize the site criteria mapping:

• Recreation and Demand Plan draft

• Community Engagement Plan draft

• Phase 1 - schematic design

We expect more information to share on those things soon. Keep an eye on our newsletter and this page for updates and opportunities involving the Skyway Community Center.

2023 Updates:

King County has set aside $10M for a Skyway Community Center. They are working to identify a location best suited to the community needs. To date, they have heard consistently said that the bowling alley is their first choice for a location.

Timeline: Bryan Hague with King County’s Facility’s Management Division (FMD) has contacted the owner of the Skyway Bowling Alley regarding purchase.
