Our community has been tirelessly advocating and working towards the affordable housing vision of Brooks Village for nearly a decade. Our community needs to attend the King County Brooks Village Request for Proposals Meeting to confirm our interest and support.

This meeting is a significant opportunity for King County to understand Skyway Coalition's vision in partnership with our community. Our shared vision encompasses increasing homeownership and establishing accessible community-stewarded greenspace.

To achieve our collective goals, King County must transfer the land to Skyway community ownership. We have made substantial progress by having two community groups serve on committees, building plans, and establishing a community-centered contract with our partner, Homestead Community Land Trust. Together, we aim to create truly affordable homeownership opportunities while developing greenspace that will be accessible to and stewarded by our Skyway community.

King County departments will host the third community meeting regarding this land on June 3, from 10 am to 12 pm. It is scheduled for this Saturday. If you're interested, you can review recordings of the first two meetings here.
