ABOUT SKYWAY COALITION
We are a collective of Skyway serving nonprofit and public organizations that address the historic lack of investment, inequitable policies, and systems that have impacted our largely Black and brown community.
Following the needs and lead of community voices, we tackle the historic lack of investment and inequities in our unincorporated Skyway community. Together, we focus on equitable development driven by community needs of advocacy, affordable housing, and economic growth.
Our strong partnerships with residents, community groups, elected officials, and agencies bring investments and policies that preserve and uplift our Skyway community.
JOB OVERVIEW
The Community Business Engagement Coordinator will support the growth of Skyway’s local businesses by coordinating resources and services that help entrepreneurs thrive. This position focuses on developing partnerships, managing community outreach, and ensuring the ongoing success of the Skyway Business Collective (SBC). The Coordinator will work closely with business owners to understand their needs and provide tailored assistance, advocating for resources and opportunities that benefit the collective.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Connect Skyway businesses with tailored resources such as marketing, bookkeeping, design enhancements, and RFP compliance.
Cultivate relationships with local businesses, community organizations, and external partners to expand resources available to the SBC.
Design and implement initiatives to support business owners, helping them meet growth goals and sustainability.
Serve as an advocate for Skyway businesses, identifying opportunities for collaboration, government support, and policy changes.
Organize workshops, networking events, and business forums that facilitate business development and community engagement.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in economic development, community engagement, or small business support.
Familiarity with unincorporated areas and the unique challenges faced by communities in terms of investments and representation.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective relationship-building.
Ability to coordinate multiple projects and events while meeting deadlines.
Comfortable with Google Suite and Zoom/Teams video conferencing tools.
Excellent organizational skills, time management abilities, and a proven track record of successfully managing projects and coordinating events.
