RIZP - 2023 SCIA Winner
We want to congratulate RIZP as the recipient of the Coalition's inaugural Skyway Community Impact Award (SCIA, pronounced see-ya)! The SCIA celebrates individuals and organizations who have positively impacted the lives of our beloved Skyway residents.
This year, we are honoring RIZP for their outstanding commitment and service in leading Skyway resource pop-ups, which ultimately led to the establishment of the Skyway Resource Center.
About RIZP
RIZP's mission is to lead a relationship-based, data-informed, collaborative network that advances racial equity and fosters healthy learning opportunities for all Skyway and the Renton Highlands children.
RIZP is deeply invested in supporting strategies for basic needs, engaging families and communities, providing early learning resources, and offering middle school transition support for students and families in our area, especially those with limited resources.
By working hand in hand with partners and community-based organizations, they bridge educational gaps and improve equity in our schools. They focus on Lakeridge Elementary, Campbell Hill Elementary, Bryn Mawr Elementary, Highlands Elementary, Dimmitt Middle School, and McKnight Middle School.
Meet the Team
The incredible team behind RIZP are Christabel, Domonique, Haya, Jasmine, and Ryan. They're a small but mighty group committed to making a difference in Skyway and the Renton Highlands.
We asked the RIZP team to share a word about their team, and here's what they had to say about each other:
Jasmine, the Director of Communications, is dynamic, creative, and magnetic.
Christabel, the Director of Operations, is caring, kind, and nurturing.
Ryan, the Executive Director, is big-hearted, supportive, and a prince.
Haya, the Program Manager, is feisty, friendly, and dedicated.
Domonique, the Summer Learning Director, is fun, witty, and EXTRA.
Thank You!
We are incredibly proud of RIZP’s journey and the impact they've made on Skyway. We're excited about RIZP's future and their continued efforts to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students and families in our community.
Thank you, Skyway, for coming out to celebrate RIZP and all their fantastic work for our community! Thank you to the King County Fire District 20 for allowing us to host the SCIA during the Safety Fair and 80th Birthday Celebration. And thank you, Councilmember Girmay Zahilay, for sharing a few words of gratitude to RIZP. And thank you, Renton Innovation Zone Partnership, for your love and dedication to Skyway!
